“Talents”
This isn’t meant as a complete resumé, that’ll come eventually. For now, here’s a taste of what I’ve accomplished these past nineteen years. For my experiences in acting, please see the page entitled Theater.
Dance
Proficient in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern, thanks to eleven years at Victoria Dance Productions in Edina, MN. Instructors include Victoria McNamara (tap, jazz, ballet), Christine Carlisle (ballet technique), Holly Winje (modern), and many others. While on competitive teams from ‘97 to ‘04, I’ve performed at both regional and national competitions including Starpower, Showbiz, and many others.
Voice
I studied voice at Mount Olivet School of Music for four years under Amanda Broge. Additionally, I’ve been a member of Coe College Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Marc Falk since ‘07, was a member of Edina High School Concert Choir from ‘05 to ‘07 under the direction of Dr. David Henderson, and participated in Edina school choir from ‘01 to ‘05.
Coding
I’m mildly proficient in the programming languages C++ and Java thanks to Terry Hostetler from Coe College and Nancy Johnson from Edina High School, respectively.
Spanish
I’m by no means fluent, but I can hold my own in conversations after speaking for twelve years and studying the Spanish language for six years under Eric Gronberg and others in the Edina Public School System. I recently toured Costa Rica with Coe College Concert Choir and had the good fortune of dining with a local family with three other students. During the meal I stumbled my way through two hours as the group’s translator, and can only give you my word that the Rojo family was sufficiently entertained.
Sewing and Costuming
I’ve worked in Coe College Theater Department’s costume shop since ‘08, and was my mother’s assistant as costume designer and seamstress for the Edina High School Theater Department from ‘04 to ‘07.
